As of yesterday, the Gathiens album has been released worldwide on CD and through digital download sites. If your local shop doesn’t have it in, see if you can order it. If they can’t order it, get it from us! Also, the Vaka CD was released yesterday in North America and will be released next Monday (the 26th) in Europe on CD and worldwide digitally. Happy new year to all and a big “Thank you” to everyone who preordered a Gathiens and/or Vaka CD from us! The support has been fantastic! The last of the preorders will be shipped out early next week. The prices for both titles have now been raised to the regular price, though we are still offering the Gathiens and Vaka CDs together as a package deal (just not quite as cheap as the preorder package deal we had). As you can see, the release dates for both titles are listed in the post below this, but you can of course get them directly from us immediately.

As of today, all Gathiens and Vaka preorders have been sent out. Many thanks to those who preordered - we truly appreciate the interest and support! To those of you who have not yet preordered but would like to, we will continue to sell these at the special preorder price (that includes the Gathiens + Vaka combo deal) until January 7th. Afterwards, we will sell these at the regular price of $12 for North American orders and $14 internationally. The release dates for both albums are as follows:

If you want to get our releases through your hip local record shop and you’re in North America or Europe, you might be able to find them there. If not, pester the store owner enough and they’ll probably be able to get them in. Elsewhere in the world, our distribution may be a bit patchy, but ask and you may get lucky. If not, just order from us!

In other news, the first Vaka review of which we’re aware is available to read here! The review’s in Swedish, so those non-Swedish speakers will have to do with this quote from it translated into English:

“As a matter of fact, this soundtrack-esque piece of work is the best Swedish album I’ve heard in a long time.”

Woo-hoo! We’ll keep an ongoing blog of the Vaka reviews we receive on our myspace page (link at the top of this page) and add to it regularly as they roll in. We’ll be doing the same for the Gathiens reviews, too.

One last little tidbit of news - Vaka’s Karl Daniel Lidén has done an interview with the Swedish Close-Up Magazine. We don’t know in which issue it will appear, but we’ll post more news about that when we get it!

We have now officially made the Gathiens CD and Vaka CD available for preorder at a special price! Including postage, they are each $10 for North American customers and $12 for those outside of North America, or you can save even more money and preorder them together for $18 in North America and $22 internationally! Prices for the individual CDs will be raised to $12 for North American customers and $14 outside of North America after the preorder is over. As we try to be environmentally-friendly, each release is in special packaging made of recycled paper and board stock and printed using soy-based inks. Celebrate!

Preorders will begin shipping on December 15th. Any items ordered along with a preorder will be shipped at the same time as your preordered item unless you specifically tell us otherwise. Please visit our webshop to preorder an item. Street release date for both titles worldwide is in January.

If you would like to preorder a copy of either or both, send us an email at murkhouserecordings@gmail.com. If you want to preorder both together,  we’ll give you the two at a discounted price. We don’t know exactly how much these will cost yet and emailing us to reserve a copy will in no way obligate you to actually purchase one. If you reserve one and then change your mind, just let us know. However,  you can go ahead and contact us to reserve one right now before we put up an official preorder in our webstore. The worldwide release date for both titles will be in January and preorders will be sent out sometime in December.
